ESET software is easy to purchase and install

To install and use the program on your computer you will need a 'license'. This license consists of a case sensitive user name and password sent from ESET Software. Your license user name and password will be sent to the email address you provide. This will allow you to download and for automatic updates.

ESET NOD32 and ESET Smart Security are downloadable products. You may also order an optional CD.

Your ESET license will be sent to the email address you provide. Spam filters may block your email messages. Please check your junk or spam mail folders for your license from ESET Software.

If you have any other antivirus product installed on your computer it must be uninstalled before installing ESET NOD32. If you are installing ESET Smart Security all antivirus and firewall programs must be uninstalled first.

• Purchase ESET Software

Put your mouse over the navigation menu link 'Purchase Home Edition' or 'Purchase Business Edition' at the top left corner of this page. Another list will drop down where you may choose the type of license you wish to purchase then click the 'Buy' button. This will open a secure shopping cart that will walk you through buying a license. On approval of your purchase you will receive an email receipt.

For checks or money orders simply print out the order confirmation and send the payment to the address provided.

Once payment has been received, a case sensitive user name and password will be sent to the email address you provide. This user name is required to download your software.

If you have the trial version installed and you wish to upgrade to the full version you will not need to download.

    Keep your license in a safe place. Print it and save it.

• Download and install your ESET software

Go to the Download page. Click on the download button. Put the user name and password that were sent to you into the fields provided to start the download. Enter your user name and password exactly as sent to you. Your download will start automatically. If you click 'Open' NOD32 will download and start the installation automatically. You may save the file to your desktop or to a folder of your choosing (then find and click on this icon).

The ESET installation will walk you step by step through the installation process. The default settings are recommended. During installation the setup will ask you for your user name and password to perform automatic updates. Enter your user name and password exactly as sent to you.

NOTE: Please remember to enter your user name and password exactly as they are written. The user name and password are case sensitive and the hyphen in the user name is necessary. The password is ten characters long and all lowercase. If you are copying and pasting, make sure you don't select an extra blank space. Also, we do not use the letter L in passwords (use the number one (1) instead), a big 0 is the number zero (0), a little o is the letter o.
